Hey hey!

So happy you made it to this page, and are checking out my work and products. Thanks for being here!

I’m Cora, the artist and owner behind Harmony Hardin. I’m a German-American located in Lucerne, Switzerland, and in case you’ve always wondered: the rumors are true, Swiss chocolate is simply the best.

You’ll often find me savouring a piece while swooning at mountain views, paint brush in hand. I love painting, and I do so in two distinct styles.

  • Contemporary

This style came after the Classic style. To be honest, it was inspired by joyful play with my son! It was one of the first times in his life where he and I were outside on the terrace enjoying a summer day, chalk in hand. Just as he discovered the joy of drawing, I discovered the beauty of simple shapes that were universally understood. In trying to draw something he could recognize, I was breaking free of the minute details, the painstakingly delicate and long process of painting in my Classic style. My contemporary style is bold, it is happy, it is bright, it is simple and filled with good energy. This style puts a huge smile on my face, and I hope it does the same for you.

  • Classic

This style was born from the awe that stops me in my tracks whenever I stumble across a beautiful flower, from the appreciation of skilled painting as a craft. From spending many years growing and perfecting my craft. It is infused with the dedication to paint slowly and in great detail, and with a huge appreciation for nature. When I paint this way, I often reach the relaxed and harmonious flow state, being totally absorbed. This style makes me appreciate the beauty of the world, and of traditional watercolor artistry. I hope your customers feel the same.

  • My Art Journey

I have always been creative. As a kid, I stayed up late hand-painting soccer ball patterns on tiny styrofoam balls to decorate my soccer teammates' lockers. I made bracelets, and decorated my prom outfit with countless Swarovski crystals. Yes, I was that kid. I so wanted to be an artist, to draw, and yet... I saw what other kids could do, and gave up.

In my early 20s, I took courses and workshops to explore different art techniques. Woodworking, 3D printing, carneval float making, ... you name it, I took a 101 level course on it.

I narrowed down and explored several options in depth, each for a number of years, ranging from floral design to photography, from laser cutting to abstract large scale acrylics.

And after all that joy and experimentation, I finally sat down in 2019 and decided that I wanted to get back to the roots of where my interest had originally started, to actually learn how to draw and paint. I treated it with the seriousness and commitment of both a career and a life goal, improved my skills over many years, and launched this business.

Today, I offer greeting cards and other products in two distinct art styles: classic, and contemporary. I hope one of them makes your heart sing a little bit.
